Tournaments for LL2K3

Post by Kanonfodda »

I am hoping to run some small tournaments at Llamalan 2k3.

This will depend on the number of people at the event, and the number of people willing to play one specific game.

The mini tournament I have designed is based around 4, 4 man teams. This should not be a major problem, asusming we have a total of 40 participants (as is hoped).

If anyone has any ideas/requests for tournaments, post them in here :D

Jedi et Jedi - Separating the Masters from the Padwans. Teams of two (or more?) fight it out like a wrestling match, where the partners stand at the side and swap when they are 'tagged' (bumped into). Dark Side v Light Side maybe.

Q3F tourny ala TFC2000 - If clans are present, do full clan teams, else just forge players together from a hat (figurative or otherwise).
1 (Team A vs Team B) and 2 (Team C vs Team D)
1 (1 Winner vs 2 Winner) and 2 (1 Loser vs 2 Loser)
1 Winner vs 2 Winner
or something.

Q3 Last Man Standing - 1v1, but players join in alphabetical order one after the other once one of the contestants is fragged. Go through the list twice maybe. After the last player has joined for the last time, the winner is the last man standing and takes the golden underpants of victory.

BF City Assault - Berlin!! Team v Team then swap allegience.

BF 'Battle of the Llamas' airbourne dogfighting only! Find a map with the most planes and a few of us take to the air, flight v flight.

JEEP RACING on GAZALA!!!

Standard Q3 dm - may the best person win.

Other games can run in pretty much the same way I think. :)

Which ones do you like the look of? We should plan 'em properly, so for example if we wanted jeep racing we could do a knockout so several peeps can play, but we'd have to draw out the route.

Something else for Kanon to do - there should be a webpage running on a local server with times and tournies etc and any other info like results etc. :)

how about some of us "young uns" vs the oldies on q3f. Eg off vs def on stag. most caps after say 20 mins for example. 1 team plays only def for 20 mins. After 20 mins they swap and the other team def's. what you think?
