LlamaLan request for help

Postby CrashFailure on Mon May 18, 2009 10:34 am

Hi all,

I was hoping to attend llamalan this year.
And as there are more of FTD going there i was hoping some of you might be able to help me.
The problem for me is that ( since im going to be in UK from the netherlands ) i wont be able
to bring my own PC.
But if i want to attend the Lan and join the fun i will need one .
So my question is, if someone might have some parts lying around so i can come to LlamaLan?
I can bring smaller stuff, was thinking of keyboard, mouse, even graphics card if needed.
But it will look silly if i will be sitting behind just a keyboard and a mouse :D

Any help is welcome.

Hey matey :)

I have a spare 17" monitor you can borrow (LCD), so you are welcome to that. Depending on my work situation, I may have a spare PC by then. Hopefully I will have been able to upgrade* mine by then. Also, Golem can you have a word with Shabby and see if we can borrow his spare PC? That is a very good spec if memory serves :D

*replace completely, but don't tell the mrs ;)

I asked what Shabs intentions are towards LlamaLAN XII. He said 'Awesome'.

So that means he's coming and he'll be bringing both PCs. As KF has said, his 'spare' PC outspecs most of our actual PCs, so you're sorted CrashFailure. :)

Plus I think ShabbyJ remembers your Digital days. ;)

She wont read the forums, KF? :D

Another thing that comes to mind is the public connection to you guys from London.
Is it doable?

No worries. Happy to help. :)

Ill rebuild it for you just before the LAN so you have a fresh build to do what you want with.

Public transport from London is very good. We have some people from that area sometimes so if you're lucky you'll land a lift via car. Otherwise, there's a train from London Victoria direct to Chatham. Other London stations will require one change. You can use this site closer to the day to figure it out if you use the train. :)

Here's where Chatham train station is in relation to the LAN. You could nab a bus or get a taxi (there's always a line of taxis outside the station) to the Scout Hut in Mafeking Road, Waldersalde.

The easiest thing would be to get word to one of us that you've arrived in Chatham so someone can come grab you by car!

If you want a lift from the station make sure that it's early enough that one of us is sober ;)

Just had a thought but if you are coming over by train you can always avoid London and hop off at Ebbsfleet International (assuming EuroStar) and hop down the line from there to Chatham.

Sure, or if you tell me what you want on it, I can stick it on for you.

Whatever is easiest for you. :)
