Games at LlamaLAN XV and where to get'em

As you've no doubt read in the latest address from the General Of All The Excellent Exiles (GOATEE), games have been selected and here's a handy list in case you want in but don't have the game in question!

Big Games:
Half Life 2 DM Battlefield 2 (don't buy used, pretty sure needs unique key) Trackmania Nations Forever 1v1 DM
Unreal Tournament 2004
Clan Games
Left 4 Dead 2 Dawn of War
Other games will clearly be played in between. Armagetron is practically a certainty, which will be available at the LAN or you can download it (go do a search). Other likely shows will be Q3A, Warsow, CSS and TF2. Check the event's Games List to see what the favourites amongst the players are.

Re: clan games - there only seems to be one clan present in any numbers. . . so. . . like. . .what's with that? =)

If you go by the floor plan, yes, but that's just an indicator for us if we need to seat people who haven't picked a place yet and they have buddies coming. :) But there's a number of clans who tend to form just for the LAN who take part in these things. I'll pull out some examples here... "Long Haired Idiots", "The Angry Bananas" and "Team Evil", the talented "Meow Cat Clan"and two of my favourites "Inter-Continental Ballistic Mango" (won the DEFCON tourny at LL13 I think??) and "Pat Sharps Potato Rodeo". :)

You can find a full list in your profile if you go to the Clans tab - check out that dropdown list!

OMG I don't know where that came from but it's like I'm coming on home. Tears of joy streaming down my stupid, pretty face as I read that :D

I play Medic and only Medic!

Not sure about UT2004 again for 1vs1 but prob coz I took such an arse pounding off Golem last time. Any chance we can limit the maps so I actually know my way around some of them this time?

HL2DM eh? Hah that should be really good fun. Can't wait to GRav gun a toilet into TheBrooks face! Oh wait he's on my team . . . uppppppppppppsssssssssss

yeh i havent played BF2 in years, but have ordered it off play and it should be turning up sometime this week, so will have to get back into that one. as for UT2004, have bought that and just got to the ladder in single player so can finally try out all the diff match types. i have HL2DM downloaded but never actually played it so will have to break that one out aswelll. all in all i have some serious practicing to do lol. good thing i have 4 worry free weeks before i start my new job so loadsa time to play lol

I'm also loving the choice of BF2 - that's the only game I ever got serious about and played in a clan, years ago now. I like UT2004 too, but I'm sure I will be horribly violated by experienced players.

I concur with this statement :P
I've not played BF2 in years, but played it a hell of a lot back in my college days (in lieu of doing any work), and played as Anti-Tank almost religiously :P

Really looking forward to this one :)

What patch level for BF2 we looking at 1.41 or 1.50

BF2 1.5 I have the patch on the LlamaLAN FTP if you need to install it at the LAN, but it would be better to have it in place before hand :)
If it bleeds, we can fry it :0D

Finished downloading the 2 Gb 1.5 file and installed and working fine on my Win7 x64

Found some interesting parameters for bf2

"D:\Games\BF2\BF2.exe" +restart +playerName ^FBZ^Ragnor +playerPassword password +szx 1680 +szy 1050

the +restart stops the videos playing
the +playername and +playerpassword auto logs you in
the +szx and +szy sets the screen res for widescreen (pre 1.5 has no support for widescreen)

have you checked on forums etc if this interferes with the punkbuster stuff. i know i had some probs with BF2142 when i used the skip cinematic/auto login parameters as it assumed i was using a hacked account or somethin. never found out the reason but it struggled to stay on a server for more than 5 mins with PB kicking me for some reason.....
