I am up for a few dota matches but will there be a 1v1 or 2v2 wc3 event?

I'm guessing that the suggestion of DoTA is an additional suggestion since the topic of WC3 came up as one of te two alternatives in the RTS 2v2 thread below ...

well dota is different from just vanilla watrcraft 3
it would be a min of 3v3 team guys i think.....

We barely get enough interest for a 2v2 RTS tournament, so I think we will leave dota to the bigger LANs

... and like has been said before ... there is absolutely nothing to prevent you from playing amongst yourselves ... but it's hard to plan a tournament or big game for a game when not one attendee has indicated through the official games list that they have it installed and are prepared to play it nor has anyone requested that it be added to the games list so that people can choose it.
The games list exists to gauge what games the attendees are likely to want to play, if attendees populate theirs then the LlamaLAN staff can please the majority of those who come to the events ... help them to help you ... if you look at the bottom of the games tab under your profile there is a link to PM the staff to request the adding of a game to the list, may I suggest that a quick request for DoTA be sent (in fact I might do it myself).

BTW could someone who knows their way around DoTA and indeed HoN give me a quick demo of how to play at the LAN ... so many people do play it but I just can't get my head around the concept and I don't fare very well with traditional tutorials.

I've never touched Warcraft, never mind Defence of the Ancients, but it's something to do with using a Hero character, levelling it up and collecting gold mostly by destroying stuff.
