LOL first comment on that post pretty much sums this up.
None of this should ever, ever be necessary, which is still very good cause for me to keep my money away from EA's pockets.

Nice to see a bit of reverse engineering, but EA really fucked this up from the get go (and with other BF releases).
It's a shame the server binaries have yet to be leaked....
